Magnesium is an essential element for your aquarium, it helps maintain carbonate and calcium concentrations in aquarium water.
Magnesium is used by soft corals and red calcareous algae. When available in the correct concentration, coral calcification rates improve. It is recommend to maintain Mg between 1300 – 1350 mg/L (at 35 or 1.026 salinity) and checking Mg content regularly by a water ICP test or home test kit.

In addition to the measured values, Fauna Marin ICP analyses provide you with all necessary dosage recommendations. In addition to the salts of the macro elements calcium, magnesium and carbonate hardness, we also offer a number of elements whose function is essential in saltwater aquaria.
Dosing Recommendations: 50ml per 100L (26 US gal) will increase Magnesium content by approx. 100mg/L.
Maximum daily dose: Do not increase Mg by more than 100ml/100 L per day.
